You can use Bandsurf without creating an account but will not be able to have customized results or receive notifications. At Bandsurf we value your privacy so none of your information is shared and 100% of the information we ask you for is to allow Bandsurf to help you never miss a show.
What info do we ask for and why?
- Full Name: Things are just better when we can talk as humans. Your name allows us to address things to you but if you wanna put in a fake name- go ahead Steve!
- Email: Email is how you login and also how we send you email notifications. This is never shared with anyone outside Bandsurf including promoters, vendors, advertisers, or even artists.
- Phone Number: Your phone number is only used for text message notifications; something you allow us to do through your notification preferences. Once again it is never shared with anyone outside of Bandsurf.
- Zip Code, City, State, and Country: Your location is used to help identify shows for you. We don’t want to send someone who lives in Wisconsin a show in California. This also allows artist you follow to see where their followers are located. It is fully anonymized- in fact here is a screenshot of what they see.
- Password: This is actually the one thing we do sell to anyone and everyone. (Kidding, of course).
- Genre(s): This helps us cater your discovery features to you. While we are still building many of those features we wouldn’t be able to cater your discovery to you without this.
