How We Send Notifications
Bandsurf has two goals- help fans never miss a show, and help artists talk to their fans. To never miss a show you need to be notified of shows. The current way of doing that requires 50 notifications that don’t matter for the one you want-
Your favorite artist is playing in your town.
To do this we currently have email and text notifications enabled, and up to 5 different times you can receive them. Our notifications are 100% based off of, and only sent, when you want them. Read more to see how and when we send notifications.
What Notifications Are There?
Our notifications are simple: there are two types of notifications and 3 categories of notifications. We send notifications via email, text, or both. You can enable or disable either or both of them. The three categories of notifications are:
- Show & Events: These notifications are based on the actual show date. These are the most effective notifications for discovering and attending concerts.
-
On-Sale Date: These notifications are based on the on-sale date. This is good for ensuring you can get tickets to popular shows.
- On-Sale date is not always available for shows. Some artists or sources do not consistently provide this date.
- Bandsurf Updates: We would love if you would enable these! This is so we can keep you updated on the improvements and updates made to Bandsurf. These notifications will likely be sent once a month.
Can I Stop Notifications? (Yes.)
We don't want to send you notifications you don't want. What if you are already going to a show and don't need updates on it? Bandsurf has built the Going/Can't Go function. If you have either Going or Can't Go selected you will not receive notifications for that event. To learn more about Going/Can't Go please refer to this article.
